Horseback Journey - 9 days

Horse-riding with a difference - trekking through remote steppe, along the shores of rivers and lakes, pristine countryside and meeting local families along the way - a real Mongolian experience!

Day 1: Ulaan Baatar
Arrival in Ulaan Baatar and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy a city orientation tour and visit the Natural History Museum. Overnight - Ulaan Baatar (D)
Day 2: Ulaan Baatar - Kharakorum
After breakfast drive to Kharakorum - the ancient capital of Mongolia. On the way box lunch at Elsen Tasarkhai, with an afternoon arrival at the ger camp, where you enjoy dinner. Overnight - Ger camp (B, L, D)

Day 3: On horseback
Kharakorum - Tsetserleg. Visit Erdene Zuu monastery. This Monastery is the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Lunch and meet our horses and wranglers. Ride 35km towards Tsetserleg, provincial center of Arkhangai Province. Overnight - Ger camp (B, L, D)
Day 4: On horseback
Tamir River. Ride 35km along the Tamir River, taking in the picturesque scenery. Overnight - Ger camp (B, L, D)
Day 5: On horseback
Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park. Ride 35km to beautiful Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park. Overnight - Ger camp (B, L, D)

Day 6: Kharakorum
Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park - Kharakorum. Drive to ancient Kharakorum, which was founded by Genghis Khan in 1220 as a military centre. Overnight - Kharakorum (B, L, D)
Day 7: Kharakorum - Ulaan Baatar
Kharakorum - Ulaan Baatar. Drive back to Ulaan Baatar. Overnight - Ulaan Baatar (B, L, D)
Day 8: Ulaan Baatar
After breakfast we visit the Gandan function monastery. In the afternoon a visit to Bogd Khaan Winter Palace. Free time late afternoon. In the evening enjoy a folklore show. Overnight - Ulaan Baatar (B)
Day 9: Ulaan Baatar
Breakfast and transfer to airport or railway station. (B)
