Classic Bali Adventure

Welcome to Bali! Our adventure begins with your arrival at the airport, where we’ll collect you and head straight to the lively coastal town of Canggu. After checking in at our laid-back hotel, you can unwind with a Bintang by the pool or take a refreshing nap after your journey. As the afternoon fades, we’ll make our way to the beach to witness your first unforgettable Bali sunset - just the start of what’s to come.

Please note: This tour has been designed with younger travellers (in their twenties and thirties) in mind. Older travellers may be more suited to our very similar Highlights of Bali tour.

Canggu - Ubud. Today, we leave Canggu and make our way to the cultural heart of Bali - Ubud. Our first stop is the impressive Tegenungan Waterfall, where you can take a refreshing dip beneath the cascading water, so don’t forget your towel. We’ll then head to the iconic Ubud rice terraces, a stunning patchwork of green where you might fancy a go on the famous jungle swing. We’ll wrap up the day with a relaxing sundown drink in the rooftop infinity pool.

For the keen hikers among us, it’s an early morning start - but absolutely worth it. We’ll set off in the dark for a sunrise trek up Mt Batur, one of Bali’s active volcanoes and a sacred mountain to the Balinese. The hike takes around two hours and is moderately challenging, but once we reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most unforgettable sunrises of your life. As the sun climbs above the horizon, it lights up the surrounding caldera and casts golden rays over the clouds below - a truly magical sight.

If early starts or mountain hikes aren’t your thing, you’re welcome to enjoy a well-earned lie-in and a leisurely morning back in Ubud.

After lunch, we all regroup and head to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. This lush jungle reserve is home to over 1,000 long-tailed macaques, who roam freely among the moss-covered temples and banyan trees. It’s a brilliant place to soak up a mix of nature and culture - just keep an eye on your belongings, as the cheeky monkeys are known for helping themselves to snacks, sunglasses, and anything shiny!

No trip to Ubud would be complete without a bit of shopping at the bustling local market. We'll head down straight after breakfast, as the morning is the best time to haggle for a good deal while the stalls are still fresh and the vendors keen to make their first sales of the day.

In the afternoon, we’ll swap the stalls for spatulas as we head off to a traditional Balinese cooking class. Set in a beautiful open-air kitchen surrounded by rice paddies, this hands-on experience gives us the chance to learn the secrets of Balinese cuisine. We’ll grind spices, stir bubbling curries, and cook over open flames before sitting down to enjoy the delicious meal we've prepared together. It’s a truly memorable way to immerse yourself in Balinese culture - with a very tasty reward at the end!

Ubud - Gili Trawangan. Today we island hop to the spectacular Gili Islands, a tropical paradise just off the coast of Lombok. We’ll cruise across in style aboard a fast boat, soaking in the stunning ocean views along the way. On arrival at Gili Trawangan - known simply as Gili T - we’ll check into our beachside hotel and settle into island life.

Later, we’ll head to the western shore to catch that iconic Gili T sunset, with silhouetted swings in the sea and glowing skies making for the perfect photo op. But the day doesn’t end there - after dark, Gili T’s legendary nightlife kicks into gear. From laid-back beach bars to lively parties, you’ll have the chance to try a few local joss shots and dance barefoot in the sand under the stars.

Turtle time! Today we hop aboard a private boat for an unforgettable tour of the three Gili Islands - Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. We'll dive into the crystal-clear tropical waters with snorkels at the ready, exploring vibrant coral reefs and keeping our eyes peeled for sea turtles gliding gracefully beneath the surface.

Back on Gili T, we’ll trade fins for wheels and hop on bicycles for a leisurely ride around the island. With no motorized traffic, it’s the perfect way to soak up the laid-back island vibes, coastal views, and golden beaches..

Gili Trawangan - Nusa Lembongan. Today we say goodbye to the Gili Islands and set our sights on the lesser-known gem of Nusa Lembongan. After a relaxed morning on Gili T - perfect for a lazy brunch or one last bike ride along the beach, we’ll board the fast boat around lunchtime and cruise across to this island paradise.

On arrival, we’ll settle into our new surroundings before heading to the dramatic cliffs of Devil’s Tear. Here, we’ll watch the waves crash below and soak in yet another unforgettable Bali sunset, with golden light bouncing off the spray.

We kick off the day by snorkelling with majestic manta rays. We’ll take to the crystal-clear waters around Nusa Lembongan and swim alongside these gentle giants - an unforgettable encounter.

After lunch, we swap snorkels for surfboards. There’s no better place to learn than right here in paradise. With the help of a qualified surf instructor, we’ll start on the sand learning the basics before paddling out to the famous ‘Playgrounds’ break. Whether it’s your first time surfing or your tenth, our instructor will be right beside you, helping you catch that perfect ride.

As the sun sets, we’ll head out for dinner at one of our favourite local spots, offering a mix of delicious Indonesian dishes and western comforts.

Nusa Lembongan - Nusa Penida - Nusa Lembongan. Today is our final full day, but we’ve saved something truly special - Nusa Penida! We’ll start with a peaceful glide through the mangroves, then cruise across to this rugged island paradise. Get your cameras ready for those iconic shots high above Kelingking Beach and Angel’s Billabong, two of the most jaw-dropping coastal viewpoints in all of Indonesia.

After soaking up the scenery, we’ll head to Crystal Bay for a well-earned chill - think sun, sand, and a final swim in sparkling waters. We’ll return to Nusa Lembongan in time for one last magical sunset together.

Tonight, we’ll gather for a farewell group dinner, share a few laughs, flick through the week’s best photos, and toast to new friendships. For those up for it, we’ll hit the beach bars for one final night out under the stars.
