Guilin & Yangshuo - 3 days

Renowned for its striking, if bizarre scenery - vast areas of karst limestone outcrops that rise up from flat rice paddy fields, Guilin is often the subject of Chinese painting. The Lijiang River cruise is a true pleasure that offers an endless procession of peaks and simple villages. Cruising at a sedate pace along the often misty river, local village boys paddle out to the river boats with all manner of souvenirs, whilst local fishermen use trained cormorants to catch fish. Charming Yangshuo, a river town lined with cafes and little shops selling handicrafts, clothing and curios, offers gentle respite far from the madding crowds of the cities. From Yangshuo, bikes can be hired at reasonable cost to go see more of the area and its stunning limestone karsts, or watch the scenery from the included river cruise. In Guilin see Elephant Trunk Hill and visit Reed Flute Cave, which offers the chance to walk inside a gargantuan and deep limestone cave that features innumerable stalactites, stalagmites and rocky outcrops.

Day 1 - Guilin Today you will visit Elephant Trunk Hill and the gargantuan Reed Flute Cave. Overnight - Guilin

Day 2 - River Li and Yangshuo This morning you take a river cruise along the River Li including a delicious lunch. In the afternoon take a visit to West Street, the oldest street in Yangshuo and home to a vast array of craft and calligraphy shops, cafes, restaurants and Kung Fu academies. Overnight - Yangshuo

Day 3 - Back to Guilin
This morning you are transferred back to Guilin by car or bus. End of arrangements.

For the purpose of quotations, all prices featured are based on 2 passengers travelling, and surcharges apply for one passenger travelling. This is on top of the usual single supplement. Please also note that supplements may apply over the Christmas/New Year period.
Operates: Year-round except November – February (when the water level may be too shallow for boats to navigate the River Li).
No bolt-ons operate over May Day (01-07 May) or National Day (01 - 07 Oct) holidays in China due to overwhelming domestic tourist demand for local hotels and services.
