Freqently Asked Questions - Morocco

How far in advance should I book my holiday?

If planning to travel during school holidays, we recommend booking as early as possible. Our tour departures during these times prove to be very popular and flight availability is limited. Remember to look into flight availability before booking your trip! To reserve your place on a tour, simply contact our reservations team or book online.

Are your tours suitable for single travellers?

Yes! We take lots of single travellers to Morocco, and the great thing about our trips its that you are in a group so you will always have plenty of company, and the shared experience is a great way to form some lasting friendships.

If you’re travelling alone and would like to share a room with a fellow traveller of the same sex, on the go can arrange this on all of our group tours. We have no mandatory single supplements in Morocco. If you wish to have your own room this can be arranged on most of our hotel based tours but it will not be possible if you are trekking or camping. Please note that if booking pre or post tour accommodation a single room will need to be booked.

Do I put up my own tent and what are the campsites like?

Yes as our camping trips require some participation, you and your tent mate will put up and take down your own tent. They are spacious and easily erectible 2 person A-frame or dome tents with sewn in ground sheets. You will also be required to help out the cook with cooking & cleaning duties and do security. Participation trips allow you to have a hands on experience which maximises the enjoyment of the camping experience whilst keeping the costs low.

Campsites range from well-established camps with an array of facilities that sometimes includes a bar, mini-mart or even a pool to more basic camps with few facilities. Dependent upon our day-to-day itinerary, at times we will bush camp. Bush camping on occasion allows us to return to the great outdoors and really be at one with nature.

Can children travel on your Morocco tours?

We do not accept children on our Morocco group tours, however children are welcome on our tailormade holidays.

Do I need specialist insurance for your trekking tours?

Our Trek the Atlas tour takes you to altitudes of up to 2450 and our High Atlas and Toubkal Summit tour to altitudes of up to 4168. You do not need specialist insurance, but most policies will only cover trekking up to 2000m as standard and there is often a supplement to increase the level of cover. Please check the policy details carefully because it is essential that you are fully insured. On the go can recommend a company that provides comprehensive travel insurance with the suitable level of cover, please contact our reservations team for details.

What is the Local Payment for?

On our Morocco tours we have a communal payment. It is this payment which in part covers hotel or camping fees, your meals and certain activities as detailed in your itinerary. This is to be paid in Euros cash on day 1 of your tour. Please note that due to exchange rate fluctuations the local payment may be subject to change.
