Enter the Iguana - 10 Days

Enjoy Quito before setting sail to explore the wonderful Darwinian world of the Galapagos Islands where the wildlife on the sea and on land will amaze you. You'll explore various islands from Santa Fe with its giant cacti and cute sea lions to the ancient iguanas and lava lizards of Seymour.

Day 1: Quito
Welcome to Ecuador and the beginning of your Galapagos adventure. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel where a welcome meeting will be held this evening. Overnight - Quito
Day 2: Baltra - Bachas Beach
Early flight to Baltra, in the Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival meet our naturalist guide who will assist with the transfer to our boat, the Gap Adventurer I. We visit Bachas Beach in the afternoon. Overnight - Galapagos motor yacht (B, L, D)

Day 3: Chinese Hat - Bartolomé
Morning visit to Chinese Hat, in the afternoon we arrive at Bartolomé Island. Disembark for a short hike and enjoy the pure air and gorgeous views early in the morning San Salvador Island. Learn about the geological history of Bartolomé, as our naturalist explains its dramatic volcanic features, including unusual splatter cones. Sometimes it is possible to spot rare Galapagos Penguins, of which only 800 pairs exist. Overnight - Galapagos motor yacht (B, L, D)
Day 4: Puerto Egas - Rabida
Today we visit Puerto Egas and then cruise to Rabida Island and visit a water salt lagoon rich in wildlife and vegetation. A large sea lion colony provides great photo opportunities. Overnight - onboard motorised yacht (B, L, D)
Day 5: Santa Cruz
Sail to Puerto Ayora, on Santa Cruz Island.In the morning we visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to see and learn about giant tortoises and Darwin's famed studies and explorations. After this visit you can go back to the boat, remain on board or disembark and spend a few hours on the town. In the afternoon we may also visit the highlands to see some giant land tortoises in the wild. There is the option to do some shopping prior to setting sail. Day 6: Floreana
Reach Floreana Island in the morning and stop at Post Office Bay. This is a historic site still in use today, and is where mariners would deposit and collect letters from the “post office barrel.” This unique post office is still in use today. Overnight - Galapagos motor yacht (B, L, D)
Day 7: Española
We make our way to Punta Suarez on Española Island. The southernmost island in the Galapagos archipelago is home to several wildlife species, including masked and blue-footed boobies. In the afternoon we may visit Gardner Bay, an excellent site for snorkelling. Overnight - Galapagos motor yacht (B, L, D)
Day 8: Santa Fé - Plazas
Stop at Santa Fé Island, home to a giant cactus forest, and hear our guide explain how the mangrove tree survives in its harsh environment. Learn about the prehistoric-looking land iguanas and visit Plaza Sur in the afternoon — home of a colony of raucous sea lion bachelors. Overnight - Galapagos motor yacht (B, L, D)

Day 9: Seymour - Baltra
Sail to North Seymour for one last look at frigate birds, blue-footed boobies and sea lions. Transfer to the airport on Baltra Island for our flight to Quito. Transfer to our hotel in Quito and enjoy one last night on the town.

Please note: The itinerary above relates to tours departing on a Saturday. If you choose a tour departing on a Thursday you will still start and end in Quito, and visit all the same places on the cruise, but in a slightly different order. Please contact us for more details. Overnight - Quito (B)
Day 10: Quito
Our tour ends today after breakfast and an onward transfer to the airport. (B)

The Adventurer Yacht

Our Galapagos boat, is an air-conditioned motor vessel with a capacity for 16 passengers. The cabins feature upper and lower berths, and private bathroom facilities with either a porthole or a window. Recently refurbished, it offers a clean and casual setting with all the necessary comforts. It is staffed by 8 crew members, including a certified naturalist guide. Your total comfort is ensured by our helpful, cheerful staff who will attend to your every need. Additional vessel features include cozy bar, a spacious library/lecture lounge and dining room. All meals are provided and are served aboard the vessel. You may purchase alcoholic beverages, water and soft drinks on the boat. In addition you are allowed to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages with you if you have any personal preferences.
