Deep Osaka All-Inclusive Nighttime Foodie Cultural Experience

from USD $119.90
Join us for a just slightly offbeat, fully all-inclusive night tour of Tenma and Kyobashi, two of Osaka's most well-known local food and drink areas! You'll get to eat typical Osaka food, have a few drinks, frolic with the locals, and have all sorts of fun along the way! Stop At: Tenjimbashisuji Shopping Street, 5-6-30 Tenjimbashi Kita-ku, Osaka 532-0011 Osaka Prefecture
We've got lots to show you in this historic neighborhood, and not just related to food either. Over the course of our 45 minute stroll, you'll learn about both this history and now of this part of Osaka.
Duration: 35 minutes
Stop At: Ogimachi Park, 1-1 Ogimachi, Kita-ku, Osaka 530-0025 Osaka Prefecture
A lovely park, with great views and a nice vibe. The first place you'll learn why Osaka is the best big city in Japan! If we do say so ourselves.
Duration: 10 minutes
Stop At: Pulala Tenma, 3-1 Ikedacho, Kita-ku, Osaka 530-0033 Osaka Prefecture
We walk around the marketplace, but also make two stops at restaurants in this super fun neighborhood. We keep the pace lively and the food delicious, and each of our two stops here (and third stop in the next neighborhood) are materially different from each other.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Kyobashi Park, 2-6 Higashinodamachi, Miyakojima-ku, Osaka 534-0024 Osaka Prefecture
We'll walk around this colorful neighborhood that looks like it's straight out of an era long ago, while still be super vibrant and colorful. While here, we'll make our third food/drink for the evening. The fun gets even better here!

“
Levy was our guide for this evening tour. We visited bars and restaurants, passed into gambling dens, viewed love hotels, and walked through fascinating shopping arcades. Levy gave us a great look into Japanese culture and with so much information, with his culinary background and years of experience. We had a lot of different types of drinks and food on the tour, and were quite full at the end. Afterwards, Levy kindly gave us a ride back to Dotonbori where our hotel was. We would definitely do other tours with Levy again.”

What a brilliant few hours with Levy. Spending time wandering off the beaten track and tasting delicious local food was a wonderful way to get to know Osaka better.
Levy is full of knowledge and information. An excellent tour and an essential inclusion to any visit to this great city.”

“
This was a great fun and value for money tour. The meeting place around Temma station was easy to find. The area that we toured was alive with quirky bars and eating places . We tasted traditional delicacies and the blind tasting was a lot of fun.(ask after tasting). We tasted some crackin Whiskey and Sake . Our guide Kevin was a wealth of local knowledge and made sure that we blended into the scene.”

“
Kevin showed us a range of eating styles, incl. the Stand and Drink restaurant, which we wouldn’t have tried without his help. He judged our palate really well and ordered accordingly. We really liked the oyster and egg soup in the very cosy bar. It was a delicacy we had never tried before. He gave us an insight into Japanese culture through Western eyes, incl. Pachinko parlour and Love Hotel. We highly recommend booking a Food and Drink tour in Osaka.”

“
One of the best tours I have ever taken. My son and I were the only ones on the tour, due to another group cancelling. Our guide, the owner of the company, knew Osaka inside and out. As an American from the Bay Area, he was great at comparing and contrasting the Osaka people from their counterparts in Tokyo, as well as we Americans. The tour made several stops in markets and stores, as well as stops for food and drink. The owners of the restaurants knew our guide as well, obviously sharing a close relationship, for quite some time. All of the stops for food and drink were great, and we did not want for anything else to after the tour. I can't recommend this group enough, and plan to take another tour when I return at the end of the year.”

“
We got to visit restaurants we wouldn't have known about except for our guide. We had a great variety of food for both the adventurous and the not-so-adventurous eaters. The price includes plenty of food and drink so you probably won't need to spend extra. One of the surprises of the tour was that it also included fun cultural tidbits and local colour above and beyond food. We did this tour our first night in Osaka and it set the stage for a great time in the city.”

“
Kevin Boynton knows his stuff....and he makes this evening food and drink tour one of the best tours I have booked by Viator. I booked about 5 food and drink tours. None compare to Kevin's knowledge of Osaka and of Japanese cuisine and liquors! I think it always helps when you enjoy the company of those on the tour, as well. This group was fun and we went to places you wouldn't find unless one knows Osaka...this is a must do ..and it should be on the front end of your stay in Osaka. A treat was a Suntory and Nikka tasting...what fun and so educating. Many thanks, Kevin!”

The food tour was on the first night we arrived in Osaka and it was great to be shown a few restaurants we definitely would never have found by ourselves and try food we normally wouldn’t. Dylan was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable”

We had a fantastic time with our guide Dylan. He was knowledgeable, fun and we felt like we were hanging out with a friend. Plus, we visited some small restaurants we wouldn't have found... and ate some delicious food. Highly recommended.”

“
Dylan was brilliant company. Was popular that night so tour was split in two. Kevin took first group which looked fun but it was extra special to have a private tour just the two of us. Highly recommend. Dylan gave real insight to places we couldn’t possibly have found as tourists.”
Ben L • Submitted 26 Dec 2017

“
Dylan was an excellent guide! He gave us great insights into the Osaka culture and lifestyle. All the restaurants we went to were ones that all the locals go to and everyone was very friendly, and of course, all of the food was absolutely amazing! Having been on multiple food tours in multiple Asian countries, I gotta say this one was the most fun. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend!”

“
Dylan was our tour guide and he definitely did his job well!
He brought us through the Tenma district of Osaka and we had a lot of good food. But most valuable, we learned more about the Japanese lifestyle and culture. Osaka people we met on our tour were super friendly! They're the kind of people you can easily have a friendly drink with!
I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone wanting to experience real Osaka hospitality.”
Mitchell Y • Submitted 30 Nov 2017

“
I would highly recommend this tour! We would never have found the wonderful places we went to on our own. Dylan gave us so much information about Osaka. The food, the culture and just made the entire experience fun. He’s also “magical” with cards. We would go definitely go again!”

“
We took the tour on Friday October 20th. The your is actually ran by Australians, not Japanese guides. They keep them to a max of 5 people per tour. The tour guides are Kevin or Tom. We got Tom, who was fun and very relaxed. During my 10 days stay in Japan, we took 2 big group tours and 3 private yours, all with Japanese guides, and trust me that we learned and had more fun with Tom than in any of the previous tours. He spoke perfect Japanese, and told us a lot about the city and the Japanese culture that we just did not learn in the previous tours. The food was really good, and diverse. While you will find some weird dishes, they are all delicious. You will be taken to real Osaka, and not Dotonbori, which is mainly for tourists. Since you still have to go to Dotonburi, you will be able to compare the quality of the food and you will see what I am talking about and you will be really happy you took this tour. Because they are locals, they will order only good stuff for you and stuff that you would have never been to order by yourself due to the language barriers. If you are a foodie, and want to have a real experience in Osaka, I strongly recommend this tour.”

“
Would highly recommend! Suited for a more adult crowd, but our guide Kevin was very knowledgeable and entertaining. You'll be eating food and having drinks in places that are very hard to find as a tourist. Extremely good for a look-in to local cuisine and culture.”
