Nepal Group Tours

The Chitwan National Park stay was for me the most organized and interesting with a most competent guide. I was surprised by the amount of wild life that was to be seen; my preconceptions about Nepal mainly centred around Buddhist temples, cultural sites and mountains. The hotel used was also great. Cancellation of our flight from Bharatpur to Pokhara/unpredictability of flights in general due to weather. Condition of the roads was poor and trips overland therefore tiring. Poor condition of toilets when on road. Guides that 'parrot'/use a script (KTM in particular) are annoying.

Pathan in Kathmandu stood out the most - vibrant, historic, and full of charm. Our guide Anil swapped it to the last day due to bad weather, which worked perfectly. Otherwise, too many similar squares in one day! The sunrise trek in Pokhara was equally unforgettable. Stay at Mount Kailash Hotel was stressful. After flight cancel, rooms were not ready and were dirty with poor amenities. Manager, Deep, kindly upgraded us, but the reception staff were rude. No hot water unless we complained. The Pokhara location was the highlight in general. The local guide provided, Anunga, was absolutely superb. I couldn't rate him highly enough. The mountain scenes from Pokhara were awe-inspiring. The monasteries were also a great peaceful contrast to the bustle of Kathmandu. There is quite a lot of pollution in Kathmandu. It may be a good idea to warn visitors. People are sleeping on the streets in Kathmandu, also. It is not surprising, but shocking none the less.

Our guide was wonderful, he had local knowledge, and he engaged with local people in each area, who in turn engaged with our group. This really enhanced our experience. Also, in Chitwan, it was important to him that we see the rhinos, he encouraged the guides to take a different route, which worked. The accommodation in Kathmandu and Chitwan was excellent. However the accommodation in Pokara was very outdated, badly needing updating. The bed was rock hard, and the place felt worn and unclean.

Great tour with a very well structured itinerary. Amazing group and very professional and friendly guides and drivers. Overall very satisfy with the tour and would suggest only a small change in the management of the tips to make the trip even more hassle free for the participants.

Our guide Lhab Tshering (LT) and our driver Arjun in Bhutan were exceptional. They both were always extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all our questions, guiding us when touring around and very kind and supportive on the very special climb we did to Tigers Nest, I couldn't have done it as well and as easily without his help. LT's daily trips were always very well planned and he and Arjun thought about our every need each and every day, planning what we did to also allow time to wander as well have snacks and drinks along the way, as well as adding in little extra things as the opportunity arose. Rob and I loved our tour in Bhutan and found the country and the people very friendly and helpful, and less crowded and rushed than in Nepal. Our guide in Nepal was Bir, who was also a good guide, and ensured we covered the itinery that had been planned for us to do, however, some days we seemed to have an awful lot to see, with little time to wander around, and with so much to see and do, a break in the middle for a snack or lunch was sometimes a bit later than some of the group would have liked, being around 3 to 4 pm having started the days sightseeing around 9am. To cover all the places we went to meant we had a couple of very long days, 6+ hours, traveling on Nepal's often quite poor and congested road system, the flight back from Pokhara to Kathmandu was a welcome relief. The tour was actually 2 tours so rating the whole tour as one is difficult, Bhutan I would give 5 stars for the tour, the tour guide and giving me a true feeling for that country. Nepal I would give it 4 stars for the tour, because of the days traveling by road, 4 stars for the tour guide as sometimes his organization of the day felt rushed and lacked time for us and 5 stars for giving us a true feel for the country.
