Patan Tours, Nepal

The Chitwan National Park stay was for me the most organized and interesting with a most competent guide. I was surprised by the amount of wild life that was to be seen; my preconceptions about Nepal mainly centred around Buddhist temples, cultural sites and mountains. The hotel used was also great. Cancellation of our flight from Bharatpur to Pokhara/unpredictability of flights in general due to weather. Condition of the roads was poor and trips overland therefore tiring. Poor condition of toilets when on road. Guides that 'parrot'/use a script (KTM in particular) are annoying.

We enjoyed the entire tour. The sights around Kathmandu were superb. The Chitwan National Park was exciting as we saw two one-horned rhinos in the wild. Pokhara was outstanding with great views of the Himalayas and such a lovely town by the lake. We had various guides and they were all great. We found various aspects of the administration unsatisfactory. We paid the final tour cost early but received several reminders that we had not paid. Then we were charged for a flight we didn't want and it took a long time to get a refund and many unnecessary requests for financial details.

Everything we did was a highlight, from start to finish, though watching the sunrise and having breakfast overlooking the Annapurna Range in the Himalayas was tops! We loved our On The Go Tours tour of Nepal. We felt well cared for, and had amazing drivers and exceptional guides. though dining staff at the Soaltee Resort, Chitwan, were overly keen that everything was okay and even asked us to complete their in-house review before we finished breakfast. However, the staff were all very courteous and respectful so we were very happy with them.

Pathan in Kathmandu stood out the most - vibrant, historic, and full of charm. Our guide Anil swapped it to the last day due to bad weather, which worked perfectly. Otherwise, too many similar squares in one day! The sunrise trek in Pokhara was equally unforgettable. Stay at Mount Kailash Hotel was stressful. After flight cancel, rooms were not ready and were dirty with poor amenities. Manager, Deep, kindly upgraded us, but the reception staff were rude. No hot water unless we complained. Guide Soni ignored how unwell we felt and overloaded us with info on tour

We loved everything about the tour. The thing that stood out was the knowledge and kindness of the local guides and drivers. They were all amazing. We loved the old town of Kathmandu and the trek in Pokhara. Narendra was an amazing guide and did everything possible to find us a view of the mountain Our hotel in Pokhara was very dated and a disappointing. The staff were good but we would rather have paid a bit extra and stayed in a nicer hotel. Especially as we were there for 3 nights

The Pokhara location was the highlight in general. The local guide provided, Anunga, was absolutely superb. I couldn't rate him highly enough. The mountain scenes from Pokhara were awe-inspiring. The monasteries were also a great peaceful contrast to the bustle of Kathmandu. There is quite a lot of pollution in Kathmandu. It may be a good idea to warn visitors. People are sleeping on the streets in Kathmandu, also. It is not surprising, but shocking none the less.

Our guide was wonderful, he had local knowledge, and he engaged with local people in each area, who in turn engaged with our group. This really enhanced our experience. Also, in Chitwan, it was important to him that we see the rhinos, he encouraged the guides to take a different route, which worked. The accommodation in Kathmandu and Chitwan was excellent. However the accommodation in Pokara was very outdated, badly needing updating. The bed was rock hard, and the place felt worn and unclean.

Great tour with a very well structured itinerary. Amazing group and very professional and friendly guides and drivers. Overall very satisfy with the tour and would suggest only a small change in the management of the tips to make the trip even more hassle free for the participants.
