We take into account a range of criteria when choosing our ANZAC accommodation. Having inspected what is available, we offer a carefully selected range of 3 - 4 star hotels on our ANZAC tours, whilst on our ANZAC Gold 9 day tour, we use 4 - 5 star hotels, including a delightful heritage property in Istanbul and top seaside hotels elsewhere.

The emphasis is on accommodating you in well-managed centrally located properties that factor in comfort, cleanliness and a modest range of guest facilities. We’ve done our homework and have chosen hotels that suit the traveller’s needs - such as proximity to local transport, restaurants, shops and attractions. All hotel guest rooms offer en suite bathrooms, a television, fridge and more importantly, cooling or warmth.
Many of our hotels additionally offer a range of guest facilities such as a restaurant or somewhere to eat and sometimes additional facilities such as bars, shops and ATM machines. In smaller towns, the choice of accommodation may be limited but based on our group tour standards, we will always book the best accommodation available for our groups.
Due simply to the lack of decent, reasonably priced hotel accommodation in the Gallipoli region during the ANZAC commemoration all our tours (excluding ANZAC Gold) will overnight at the ANZAC dawn service site awaiting the sunrise.
The demand for hotels increases dramatically during ANZAC commemoration days when around 15,000 people visit the region. Many operators resort to accommodating their clients in inferior guest houses and hostels with up to 6 people sharing one room. Invariably, such accommodation is miserable and often miles away from anywhere. In the past we trialled an overnight stay in the Gallipoli region and had to endure unduly expensive kennel style accommodation, queues for ferries and battle congested roads to get to ANZAC Cove. To overcome this problem, since 2000, on the go now carefully structures all ANZAC itineraries in such a way that we are not reliant upon substandard accommodation in the region. With large attendance numbers at the Dawn service, it is absolutely essential we arrive at the site on the 24th April. Although this translates to waiting outside on the manicured lawns of ANZAC Cove until dawn, it does ensure good viewing of the evocative service and a chance to lap up the charged atmosphere. To experience the pilgrimage at ANZAC Cove any other way just doesn’t work. We’ve tried it! With on the go, there’s no risk of missing the Dawn service at ANZAC Cove, Gallipoli.

If travelling on our superior Gold tour. We will be staying in the Gallipoli Region for a duration of 4 nights, in Cannakale, an attractive coastal town across the Dardanelles, which provides easy access to all of the sights and monuments dedicated to the fallen soldiers at Gallipoli. this allows for a more indepth exploration of the region before the crowds descend on ANZAC eve.
