Egypt - Hotels & More

Group Tour Accommodation

On our groups tours we offer quality 3 - 5 star hotel accommodation and on our Jewel of the Nile tour and Pyramid City Stay we offer a superior 5 star hotel and Nile Cruise category.

With more than ten years experience operating tours in Egypt, countless hotel inspections and monthly quality assurance testing, we certainly know our stuff when it comes to selecting quality accommodation. The emphasis is on well managed, reputable properties that factor in comfort, cleanliness and a good range of guest facilities.

Our hotels are also centrally located and in close proximity to restaurants, markets, shops and other attractions - something many other operators do not offer.

All our hotel guest rooms offer en suite bathrooms, a television, fridge and more importantly, air conditioning. Additionally, all of our group tour accommodation (excluding camps in the White Desert or Wadi Rum) boast a range of guest facilities such as a restaurant and swimming pool. Most have additional facilities such as bars, shops, ATM machines and nightclubs.

Our 4 - 5 star accommodation

On our Jewel of the Nile tour, you'll stay at superior 5 star hotels with all the hotel features mentioned above and at times stay at heritage properties such as the Marriot hotel in Zamalek - once the Ottoman palace of Khadive Ismail. Additionally you will be upgraded to comfortable sleeper train cabins on overnight train journeys and cruise the Nile aboard a 5 star deluxe Nile cruiser. Likewise, our 2 family tours offer hotels of a 4 - 5 star standard and upgrade to sleeper cabin.

Cruising the Nile in style onboard a Nile cruiser is part of our Jewel of the Nile tour or Nile 5 star bolt-on or Pharaoh’s Pass bolt-on. You’ll enjoy the comfort of a well-appointed cabin and a range of guest facilities including restaurant, pool and sun deck aboard your floating hotel.

On many other tours you will sleep under a blanket of stars onboard a Nile felucca sailing boat. The boat deck is draped with soft colourful cushions that serve as your lounging and meal area during the day and as your sleeping area at night. An option on any tour including a Nile felucca cruise is to upgrade to a 5 star Nile cruiser via our Nile 5 star bolt-on or Pharaoh’s Pass bolt-on, with all the inclusions as mentioned above.

Western Desert

On our Dunes & Tombs and Sandblaster tours and Western Desert bolt-on, we travel to remote areas of the country where accommodation is basic and facilities are modest. With plenty of research we can safely say we use the best, reasonably priced hotels within these regions. During our time in the Western Desert we are often able to camp freely with no tents, under an incredible blanket of the stars, such as in the White Desert.

Wadi Rum

On our Road to Jordan tour and Petra & Wadi Rum bolt-on, we spend a night in the Wadi Rum desert where you can choose to camp under the stars or in tents at our remote Bedouin camp. Our camp is set amongst towering weathered sandstone rocks and rolling red sand dunes. It has permanent tents with twin beds, a toilet block with a cold shower and a communal seating area to gather in at night and enjoy some traditional Bedouin food. Desert camping, although basic, is fun and it's the best way to experience Wadi Rum. Bedding is provided at our Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum, though please bring your own sleeping bag liner. If visiting in winter (Nov - Mar) bring your own winterweight sleeping bag as temperatures can be very cold.

Overnight Trains

On many of our group tours journeying south from Cairo to Aswan and/or Luxor, we utilise the overnight seater train service. Seating is reserved in air conditioned Nefertiti Class, wagons. Nefertiti style seats are located within a 6 person, semi enclosed cabins. Whilst seats don’t recline, the lights can be switched off inside your cabin. It is suggested you bring some ear plugs and also an eye mask for personal comfort. A neck pillow is also good idea, for a little added comfort. Toilet facilities (which are very basic in standard) are located at the end of each wagon.

On our Jewel of the Nile, Family tours and many Private Journey itineraries we include a sleeper cabin train as part of your journey. Cabins on the sleeper train are lockable, equipped with 2 bunk beds, linen, washbasin and towel, allowing passengers to relax and stretch out. Meals are included on the overnight sleeper train service. On all other tours (taking the Nefertiti Seater Train) we offer the option to upgrade to a sleeper cabin on the Sleeper train and if you would also like to upgrade to the Nile Cruiser, we offer the money saving Pharoahs Pass.
