Our guide, (Ahmed) Helal was excellent, although could occasionally impart too much information to absorb. A visit to the museum of civilisation early in the tour would help with the timelines The accommodation was OK, but the locations were always well away from the centre / attractions (except Alexandria). Our Nile cruise did not even reach Luxor, but finished in nowhere, 7 miles short. We spent 24 hours at the end in a military suburb of Cairo.

Momo was very well versed in ancient Egyptian history including culture, and had great insights to the Romans and Greeks who played an important part in Egypt's history. Of course, the pyramids and the sphinx were so very interesting, and the GEM was incredible to visit The only part of the tour we didn't particularly enjoy, but it didn't affect our trip overall, was the train from Cairo to Luxor. We did realize that the train was old and not of the same standard that we are used to in the United States, but it was a bit worse than what we were expecting.

The cost associated with entrance fees came as a shock. While the trip notes gave an estimate for the tipping kitty and a tip for guides, nothing was provided about the entrance fees, and these cost over $250AUD per person. You could provide an estimate in EGP. Train is awful.

The train, by a wide margin- the restrooms were filthy. Highly recommend switching to flights. Not being forewarned about the limitations on withdrawing cash from ATMs caused inconvenience and cost us around $75 in fees. The guide could have given more narration along the way and at the sights.
