Egypt Visa Requirements

 

Egypt

 

Visas are required by all visitors to Egypt. Contrary to popular belief, the Embassy of Egypt advises all travellers to procure their visa prior to entry into Egypt. It still remains possible for nationals of some countries to procure their tourist visa upon arrival at Cairo International Airport. Please note that in the event of visa refusal at port of entry, on the go cannot be held responsible.

 

If undertaking our Road to Jordan tour or our Jordan bolt-on, you will need to procure your Egyptian Multiple Entry tourist visa before departure to Egypt.

 

Note: all RSA passport holders must procure their Egyptian visa before departure.

Jordan

Visas are required by all visitors to Jordan. Visas for UK, EU, Australian, US and Canadian passport holders are issued at Aqaba Seaport (our group tour point of entry from Egypt) free of charge and at Amman International Airport, where the cost is currently 10JD (USD$15) for single entry. Multiple entry visas can only be arranged in your country of origin at a cost of USD$29. However, it is your responsibility to check that this still applies before your departure to Jordan.

 

On departure (via land or sea), a 5JD departure tax of is applied to all visitors.

 

Note: all RSA passport holders and all other passport holders must obtain their Jordanian visa prior to departure.

Syria

 

Information for citizens of Europe, the Americas, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa

 

If you are travelling into Syria on our 'Cairo to Damascus' tour (or any other group tour), on the go are able to arrange a Group Syrian Visa in advance to your arrival at the border/airport at a nominal cost (USD$10) paid locally. The regulations governing this visa type are very strict and passengers must be vigilant in providing all necessary and factually correct information to on the go 1 MONTH PRIOR TO DEPARTURE.

 

Please be sure to provide on the go with the following:

• Group Visa Declaration form - available here & sent upon reservation.

• Scan/ photocopy of your passport (personal details page)

 

IMPORTANT: Please be advised that if you have any Israeli stamps in your passport, having arrived internationally into Tel Aviv or Eilat or through land borders with Egypt or Jordan (for example across the Allenby Bridge from Israel into Jordan), you’ll be denied entry into Syria. Please arrange a new passport in advance of sending any documentation to us.

 

A departure tax of 1500SYL (USD$32) is levied upon all passengers departing via Damascus airport. If departing Syria via a land border (such as returning to Jordan) a departure tax of 500SYL (USD$10) will need to be paid at the exit point and a new Jordanian tourist visa will need to be purchased upon arrival to Jordan currently 10JD (USD$15).
