Located approximately 22km north of Hurghada, the vast planned resort of El Gouna is built on a series of islands linked by purpose-built canals and bridges, resulting in the creation of many lagoons and sandy beaches.

In addition to relaxation, the environmentally friendly resort of El Gouna specializes in water sports including SCUBA diving, wind surfing, kite surfing, and waterskiing, parasailing and snorkeling. The two main beaches are Zeytuna and Mangroovy. The lively and beautiful Zeytuna Beach (accessed by shuttle boat from Downtown and Sultan Bey) is located on its own island, surrounded by lagoons. A jetty extends into the sea providing access to deeper water and the coral reef plateau. Just north of the Abu Tig Marina, Mangroovy Beach has become internationally renowned for its superb kite surfing conditions. Further beaches worthy of a mention include Marina Beach Club and Buzzah Beach and offshore islands such as Tawila, Gobal and Mahmeva. Pleasingly, all of El Gouna’s beaches offer food and beverage services, banana lounger and towel rental, plus also equipment hire at some locations.

For those seeking a hole in one, El Gouna boasts a USPGA –rated golf course designed by Gene Bates and Fred Couples, that is suited to all proficiencies. Beyond the restaurants and shops of El Gouna, there are also optional excursions available to neighbouring Bedouin villages, offshore boat cruiser trips to outerlying islands and visits to the ancient Monastery of St Paul and St Anthony’s Cave.
