Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to the start of your Egyptian Adventure! Arrive Cairo airport, included onward transfer to your hotel

Day 2: Cairo

This morning we visit the great pyramids and Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Sole survivors of the ancient Greek-listed seven wonders of the world, they were constructed from over 2.5million limestone blocks, taking more than 20 years to build. We explore this area on foot and then on camel back! Off we ride into the sands, our sturdy ships of the desert beneath us.

Day 3: Cairo

This morning enjoy time at leisure and then in the afternoon we visit the Egyptian Museum to see the treasures of King Tutankhamen, mummies and more. Later we explore the Citadel and the bustling Khan el-Khalili bazaar.

Day 4: Cairo - Aswan

Today is free to relax before taking the comfortable overnight sleeper train to Aswan. The sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan takes around 12-14 HRS. It departs from Cairo at 20.00 & arrives Aswan at 08:00.

Day 5: Aswan

We will pick you up from the train station and check you into the hotel. Free time before we enjoy a Felucca ride, stopping at Sahal island where we visit a local village and school (if open) and enjoy lunch at the home of an Egyptian family. We carry on our cruise around Elephantine Island & Botanical Gardens.

Day 6: Aswan

This morning we have an excursion to Abu Simbel. (Flight to Abu Simbel from Aswan takes around 45 minutes & the visit there takes around 90 minutes then flight back to Aswan.

Day 7: Aswan - Luxor

Explore the Nubian city of Aswan with a guided walk of the local market and souq. Stunningly situated right on the Nile, a walk along the river corniche to view the many boats is a real treat, as is Aswan bazaar.. The train journey takes 2-3 hours. We will then transfer you to the train station in time for the 18:00 hour train to Luxor, which will take 2-3 hours. On arrival in Luxor we will check you into the hotel.

Day 8: Luxor

Enjoy a leisurely morning later in the afternoon early evening, we travel in horse-drawn carriages to the illuminated Temple of Luxor where we enjoy a tour in the cool evening air.

Day 9: Luxor

This morning, we visit Luxor’s West Bank. The subject of countless documentaries, our destination this morning is the site made famous by the discovery of King Tutankhamen’s tomb - the Valley of the Kings. Other exciting highlights of ancient Egypt include the Valley of the Queens, the imposing colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the gigantic Colossi of Memnon. Free time this afternoon.

Day 10: Luxor

More than a temple, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons, statuettes and obelisks. We set off in the morning to the temple and afterwards, you will have free time to relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel.

Day 11: Luxor - Marsa Alam

Bidding farewell to Luxor (option in the morning to arrive early at the resort, afternoon after check out driving during the mid day sun or late afteroon arriving late to the resort - you will need to let our representative know when you would like to travel the day before) , we travel by road north-west to Marsa Alam, (roughly 6 hours drive) a coastal resort town on Egypt’s famous Red Sea coast. Day 12: Marsa Alam

Pack your bathing suits, sun lotions and sun glasses, as you head out on a boat excursion on the Red Sea. Dropping the anchor at a location renowned for its safe snorkelling and swimming possibilities, you can opt to don mask, snorkel and fins for a great view of the colourful shoals of fish in the aquatic wonderland that is the Red Sea. Day 13: Marsa Alam

Day 14: Marsa Alam

Late Afternoon we take a short trip into the desert. Nearby there is a madhafa (Bedouin guesthouse). It is undisturbed by light or sound and offers basic comfort. We start the trip in the afternoon and arrive after a 20 minutes drive at he guesthouse. Here you enjoy the hospitality of the Bedouins. They prepare Bedu-style coffee, tea and bread. A short camel ride will give you a taste of their way of travelling. Not far away is a well where they water their goats, sheep and camels. The place is perfect to enjoy the light show of the setting sun while disappearing behind the mountains. We will be back after sunset. Overnight Hilton Marsa Alam

Day 15: Marsa Alam - Cairo

Bidding farewell to beach, sun and sand, will transfer you to the airport in time for the flight back to Cairo. On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel. The flight departs at 17:40 and arrives into Cairo at 19:05. Nile View Room Balcony

Day 16: Cairo

Enjoy a free day relaxing at your hotel.
