Namaste! Welcome to Incredible India. We will be there to meet you at the airport and will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Patna. On arrival into Patna you will be met and transferred for 4 hours to Bodhgaya.
Today you will be driven to Varanasi, which is about a 6 hour drive. On arrival you will be assisted with check in and have the rest of the day at leisure. Varanasi - a city abundant with temples and labyrinthine streets.
This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city and Sarnath. At sunset consider re-visiting the ghats for the evening pilgramage, remarkably different from the dawn ritual.
Driving north, about 8 hours, we cross the border into neighbouring Nepal. Our destination is Lumbini, birthplace of Lord Buddha in 623BC. The Lumbini Garden is famous for the Ashokan Pillar, which offers epigraphic evidence of Lord Buddha’s birth.
This morning we have a half day sightseeing tour before continuing on to Pokhara.
This morning we continue to Kathmandu, which is about 5 hours drive away. Resembling a medieval city of temples, shrines and living gods, Kathmandu is Nepal’s biggest and most cosmopolitan city, a meeting place of a dozen ethnic groups and once one of the most important points on the caravan routes between Tibet and India.
This morning you will enjoy a city tour of Kathmandu, which will include Swayambhunath, Kastha Mandap and Kumari Devi.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Delhi. On arrival into Delhi you will be transferred to Agra which is about 4 hours away.
This morning we head out to view the magnificent Taj Mahal at sunrise. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. Remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today we bid you farewell with a transfer to Delhi International Airport as you say goodbye to Incredible India! Your onward flight to Goa is included, your On the Go arrangements end with the transfer and flight ticket in Delhi.
