Pick up from centrally located hotel in Kolkata and transfer to the airport for flight to Bagdora, then transfer roughly 3 hours to Darjeeling – probably the most famous tea region in India. Remainder of the day is free for you to explore the local markets on your own.
This morning, we visit Tiger Hill to catch sunrise over the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga - the world’s third highest mountain. Continuing, enjoy a visit to the Ghoom Gompa (monastery) followed by the Tibetan Refugee Centre, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Zoological Park.
Morning half day visit to the Tea Gardens (no plucking/processing as this does not take place in winter, however Tea gardens can be visited). This afternoon absorbing the wondrous beauty of Darjeeling mountains as we travel on the UNESCO World Heritage status toy train ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom station.
Pick up from hotel in Darjeeling and transfer to Bagdora for your flight back to Kolkata. You will be met at the airport and transferred back to centrally located hotel in Kolkata.
