Day 1: New Delhi
Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport for your early morning arrival and transfer you to your hotel for you to rest. Later today you have a full day sightseeing. The order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Day 2: New Delhi - Jaipur
After breakfast we depart Delhi, and drive to Jaipur. Arriving here we transfer you to your hotel and the rest of the afternoon is yours at leisure before our full day of touring tomorrow. Overnight - Hans Plaza
Day 3: Jaipur
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city. Rest of the evening is free and at your leisure. Day 4: Jaipur - Agra
After a relaxing breakfast we will head off to Agra home to India's most famous monuments - the Taj Mahal. En route we will also pay a visit to the ghostly former Moghul city of Fatehpur Sikri - the fortified ghost city abandoned soon after its construction because of water shortages in the area. Arriving in Agra you will check into your hotel. Overnight - Shahpura House
Day 5: Agra - Varanasi
At sunrise we head out to view the magnificent Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. Tonight you will be transferred to the train station for your overnight train to Varanasi. Overnight - Howard Sarovar Portico
Day 6: Varanasi
We will be there to meet you at the train station on arrival. Later in the afternoon we will take you on a guided sightseeing tour to visit the famous Buddhist holy sight of Sarnath. Sarnath is located at 10 Kms from Varanasi where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men; preaching the middleway to final 'NIRVANA’. Overnight - Train - 1st class A/C sleeper
Day 7: Varanasi
This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city. At sunset consider we re-visit the ghats for the evening pilgramage, remarkably different from the dawn ritual. Overnight - Hindustan International
Day 8: Varanasi - New Delhi
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Delhi. On arrival into Delhi we will transfer you to your hotel. Overnight - Hindustan International
Day 9: New Delhi - Guwahati
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Guwahati. On arrival we will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of your time here is at leisure. Overnight - Ashok Country Resort
Day 13: Guwahati - New Delhi
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Delhi. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight - Landmark Hotel
Day 14: New Delhi
Today you bid farewell to incredible India as we transfer you to the international airport for your departing flight. Overnight - Ashok Country Resort
