Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Delhi, included transfer to hotel.
This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more. Tonight, we enjoy a group Namaste Dinner at a restaurant specialising in classic Indian cuisine.
Departing Delhi, we journey to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Here we enjoy a horsecart or rickshaw ride to the legendary Taj Mahal. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers. Continuing, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls.
En route to Jaipur, we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. We enjoy lunch at Chandra Mahal Haveli in Peharsar.
Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
Today, you leave the group of on you own private adventure to see the rest of India your own way. Enjoy today at leisure as tonight you will board an overnight train to Jabalpur.
On arrival to Jabalpur you will be transfered to Bandhavgarh, approximately a 5 hour journey. This afternoon enjoy your first on many Game Drives in Bandhavgarh National Park.
Enjoy two Game Drives today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Bandhavgarh National Park is in the Vindhyan mountain range and claims to have the highest-density tiger population in the world. Along with tigers you will hopefully come across leopards, Nilgais, Wild Boars, Jackals, Gaurs, Sambars adn Procu-Pines and well as many species of birds.
Enjoy two Game Drives today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Bandhavgarh is named after the ancient for built on 800m-high cliffs, it is an impressive park with an area of 448 sq km. Bandgavharh receives fewer visitors than most other National Parks so there is a good chance of spotting a tiger here.
Enjoy your last Game Drive this morning before your transfer to Katni Railway Station for your overnight train to Howrah (Kolkata).
On arrival to Howrah (Kolkata) you will be transfered to your hotel. Rest of day at leisure.
