Day 1: Delhi
Namaste! Welcome to New Delhi, the capital of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day free to relax after your long flight.
Day 2: Delhi
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Day 3: Delhi
This morning we take the Metro back to the old city for a walking tour. The afternoon is free to explore independently.
Day 4: Delhi - Agra
An early morning start we will drive to Agra - home of India's famous attraction - the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival we will have a sightseeing tour to the Agra Fort, before watching the sun set on the Taj Mahal.
Day 5: Agra - Jaipur
This morning we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area. We continiuing onto the Pink City of Jaipur where the afternoon you can enjoy some free time to relax.
Day 6: Jaipur
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style riding on an elephant! We then enjoy a city tour including the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire, and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. This evening enjoy a New Year Gala Dinner at your hotel.
Day 7: Jaipur - Jodhpur
An interesting 6 Hr drive through increasingly varied scenery takes us to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo. The rest of the day is free to relax.
Day 8: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer
This morning you will enjoy some touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the Mehrangarh Fort & Cenotaphs of the old city which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower. This afternoon we travel onto Jaisalmer.
Day 9: Jaisalmer
Today enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city including the sandstone fort which is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Later this afternoon we visit Khuri Village which we will take you on an exciting camel safari at sunset.
Day 10: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
After breakfast, we travel back to Jodhpur, the Blue City, in reference to the indigo coloured buildings that dot the old city, and the locals belief that blue acts as effective defence against mosquitoes! The afternoon is at your leisure.
Day 11: Jodhpur - Ranakpur
Leaving Jodhpur, we drive to Ranakpur, a small town tucked away in a remote valley and famed for its beautiful 14th century Jain temples. En route enjoy a Jeep safari to the Bishnoi villages and explore the local handicrafts markets.
Day 12: Ranakpur - Udaipur
Enroute to Udaipur, you will visit the 14th century Jain temples at Ranakpur. An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples.
Day 13: Udaipur
This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in a boat on Lake Pichola.
Day 14: Udaipur - Mumbai
After breakfast, we transfer you to the airport for your flights to Mumbai, arriving mid morning. You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is free to relax.
Day 15: Mumbai
This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people! Highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and Marine drive.
Day 17: Mumbai
Today we bid you farewell with a transfer to Mumbai International Airport as you say goodbye to Incredible India!
