We have a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
An early start to the day today as we collect you from your hotel and transfer you to the train station for your train to Agra. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in. This afternoon enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Agra taking in the legendary Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.
Today we transfer by road to Bharatpur. En route, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Built between 1569 and 1585, it has been deserted for more than four centuries, by all accounts abandoned in 1600 due to a meagre supply of water. Later, we transfer to the train station for your train to Sawai Madhopur. Upon arrival you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Ranthambhore National Park today (shared jeeps or canters). Ranthambore was established as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary in 1955 by the Indian Government, and was declared one of the Project Tiger reserves in 1973. For a relatively small area, the park offers a rich diversity of fauna and flora including Bengal tiger, sambar, chital, nilgai, wild boar, leopard, sloth bear and myriad birdlife.
Start the day with a game drive in the park this morning (shared jeeps or canters). Later, enjoy the scenic drive from Ranthambhore to Jaipur.
Jaipur, affectionately known as the Pink City as Maharaja Ram Singh had all of the Old City painted a welcoming pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), it is also the bustling capital of the state of Rajasthan. We enjoy a tour of the City Palace and Jantar Mantar - an old yet cleverly designed space observatory. We also travel beyond Jaipur to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort - a sprawling Rajput concoction which hugs the hill on which it was built and overlooks the hot plains below.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before we leave Jaipur and head to Jodhpur in a private vehicle. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative at your hotel for check in. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.
Enjoy a guided city tour of Jodhpur today to include Mehrangarh Fort, Umain Bhawan Palace Museum, Mandore Gardens and more. Located at the eastern edge of the Thar Desert, Jodhpur, the city that eventually gave its name to riding breeches was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459. Lying on the ancient trade route, the city is dominated by the massive Meherangarh Fort, topping a sheer rocky ridge. A 10 km long wall surrounds the old city with eight gates serving as entrances.
Saying goodbye to Jodhpur today we transfer by private vehicle to Jaisalmer. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Enjoy breakfast before heading out for a guided sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer taking in Gadisar Lake, Jaisalmer Fort and Jain temples. Later, enjoy a short camel ride on the sand dunes.
Enjoy some free time this morning before transferring to the train station in time for your overnight train back to Delhi.
Upon your arrival to Delhi this morning you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you can drop off your luggage and then enjoy some free time in Delhi. (You will have the use of a day room at your hotel from 16:00 - 22:00). Later, we will transfer you to the airport for you onward journey.
