Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights will be the Humayun Tomb, Qutab Minar, Red Fort, and will drive past the President House, and India Gate.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Varanasi (Flight 9W 723 1040/1150). On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Varanasi - a city abundant with temples and labyrinthine streets. Later we enjoy the Evening Aarti Ceremony at temples.
This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of Sarnath. Sarnath is located at 10 Kms from Varanasi where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men.
Today we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Khajuraho (IT 331-1110 hrs/1150 hrs). On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon you have a sightseeing tour of the Chandela Dynasty temples built between 950-1050 AD. Immortalised in stone, the carved temples depict Indian life a millennium ago.
This morning you will be driven to Orchha and continue on to Jhansi, where you will take the train to Agra (air conditioned chair car, ETD:1750 hrs, ETA: 2025 Hrs). We will meet you at the train station and transfer you to your hotel.
After breakfast we start our full day of sightseeing. We will view the magnificent Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. We will also visit Sikandra and Itmad-Ud-Daulah.
This morning we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area. We then continue to Bharatpur for your train to Sawai Madhopur (ETD: 1548 / ETA: 1800 Hrs), on arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park. Ranthambore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. The forests around the Ranthambore Fort were once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur.
After a final early morning game drive for a final spot of wildlife viewing, we will drive you to Jaipur. This walled Rajasthani capital is famous for the unusual rose-colored sandstone architecture that gives the city its nickname, the Pink City. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to you hotel. Rest of the day is free and at your leisure.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city. Tonight you have your cooking demonstration with dinner.
An interesting 6 Hr drive through increasingly varied scenery takes us to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo. On the way we will visit Pushkar, here you can explore without a guide.
Today you have a half day sightseeing tour, including Jaswant Thada. This afternoon you have free time. Later during free time, why not explore the Clock Tower markets, where you can bargain for spices, richly coloured Rajasthani textiles and ornaments.
Today we make our way to Osian and make our way to our camp. This afternoon we enjoy our afternoon camel safari.
Today we make our way to Udaipur, on the way we will visit the Ranakpur Jain Temples. Tonight is at leisure.
Today we have a full day sightseeing. This morning enjoy touring the imposing City Palace, a vision in soft yellow stone on the northeast promontory with breathtaking views of the lake. We will also visit Saheliyon ki Bari and the Crystal Gallery. This evening you will take ride in a shared boat on Lake Pichola itself.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Trivandrum via Mumbai (Udaipur- Mumbai 9W 2207- 0820/ 0935 Hrs and Mumbai- Trivandrum 9W 336 -1040/1240 Hrs). On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel and you have the next few days at leisure.
Today we make our way to Madurai, which is about 5 hours away. Madurai is one of the oldest cities of India, with a history dating all the way back to the Sangam period of the pre Christian era. This evening we enjoy Arrati at Meenakshi Temple.
Madurai is a bustling city jam-packed with rickshawallas, pilgrims and traders and resembling a seemingly continuous bazaar. Today we have a half day sightseeing before having a free afternoon.
Today we drive to Munnar, about 4.5 hours. Munnar - a quaint hill station nestled on the verdant slopes of tea plantations, that exudes a rare old world charm and reminds one of the days of the Raj in its elegant splendour. At a height of 1525 metres, Munnar offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The rest of the day is free.
Today you will be driven to Alleppey to board the houseboat a traditional Keralan rice boat for a journey through the backwaters in and around Allapuzha (Alleppey). The boat will cross shallow, palm-fringed lakes and cruise along peaceful canals where copra and cashews are loaded onto local boats. The on-board cook will prepare locally-inspired food. Relax, read and catch some sun as the boat plies it’s route.
After breakfast, you'll disembark from the houseboat and be transferred to your hotel in Kochi. In the evening you will be treated to a traditional Kathkali dance performance.
Today we have a half day sightseeing tour of Kochi. This evening we will view the Chinese Fishing Net.
Today you have your cooking class today which includes lunch. Today you bid farewell to Incredible India. We will be transfer you to the airport for your flight out of Kochi airport.
