Arrive Marrakech, transfer to your centrally located hotel where you will be briefed about your tour. This evening consider heading to Djemaa el-Fna - the cities UNESCO listed bustling medina. Best seen at night, this central square is an absolute feast for the senses, overflowing with stalls, fortune tellers, snake charmers and musicians.
This morning enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech, taking in all of the main attractions including the souks and medina. This afternoon is free for you to wander around the bustling souks or simply relax. Overnight - Mogador Menzah
We depart Marrakech today and set off over the high Atlas Mountains towards Ouarzazate. En route the chance to see Ait Ben Haddou - a ‘fortified city’ situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River and boasts some beautiful examples of kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited. Granted UNESCO World Heritage listing, the site had been the setting for many films including Gladiator. Spend the evening at your leisure. Overnight - Mogador Menzah
We travel along the Valley of the Roses today heading towards Gorge du Dades for lunch, an awe-inspiring valley which extends from the High Atlas to the Jebel Sarhro range in the south. The Berbers built many impressive kasbahs on the mountain steep and in the valley gorges for defence purposes. We continue along the foothills of the Saghre mountains to Merzouga (Very hot this time of year - air conditioned accommodation provided). Overnight - Rose Noire Maison d'Hotes
We continue today over the High Atlas and journey past the Gorge du Ziz to Midelt. This is a beautiful alpine area surrounded by huge pine trees and a tranquile mountain setting, this is a great spot to cool down and relax. Overnight - Portes du Desert
Continue onwards to the Middle Atlas cedar forests and a chance to see Ifrane before descending to Fes. Overnight - Kasbah Asmaa

Today we transfer to Chefchaouen. High up in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is a beautiful blue door and white-walled medina that was originally a Berber post. Only visited by 3 Westerners up until 920 when Spanish troops invaded, Chefchaouen was once considered a city that was impossible to be visited by a Christian. The main square is the heart of Chefchaouen, with the Kasbah (built back in the 18th century), central mosque and cafes with authentic Moroccan style menus. The market is a mix of traditional Moroccan and tourist souvenirs, very busy but worth a visit for the bargains on kilims. The town is easy to explore and the old Kasbah is worth a visit.
