28 Dec - Jerash & Umm Qais Amman - Jerash - Umm Qais - Amman - breakfast. Driving north, we visit Jerash, one of best-preserved cities of the Decapolis, a confederation of 10 Roman cities dating from the 1st century! We’ll explore a significant number of preserved ruins including the classic Roman colonnaded street, amphitheatre, nymphaeum and forum before continuing to Umm Qais (Gadara), a dramatic black-basalt Roman city of the Decapolis with great views over the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Overnight - Amman.
29 Dec - Dead Sea Amman - Dead Sea - Petra - breakfast. Morning city tour of the Archaeological Museum, citadel and souq with free time to explore before descending from the heights of Amman to the Dead Sea. Test our powers of buoyancy in the mineral-rich waters! This afternoon we stop off at Karak crusader castle en route to Wadi Musa (Petra). Overnight - Wadi Musa (Petra).

30 Dec & 31 Dec- Petra Petra - breakfast. Today we visit Petra. Accessing the hidden archaeological treasures of the Rose City on a walk through a narrow, deep siq, where the rocks finally give way to reveal the famous facade of Al-Khazneh (the Treasury), we continue our exploration. Dozens of tombs, temples, an impressive amphitheatre and a Roman colonnaded street await our discovery. Want to learn how to cook Middle Eastern food? On 31 December, there’s a chance to return to the Rose City before our afternoon drive to wadi rum. Late this afternoon, we enjoy a 4 x 4 safari across the stunning desertscape. At our desert camp, enjoy a special New Year’s Bedouin party with musical entertainment, a lavish buffet dinner, party games, fireworks and champagne toast! 01 Jan & 02 Jan - Mt Nebo & Madaba Wadi Rum - Madaba - breakfast. On the morning of 01 January, a short drive leads us to the Red Sea resort town of Aqaba. Short city tour and free time to shop before continuing to Lot’s cave and Mt Nebo to take in panoramic views across the Promised Land. Late this afternoon we reach the Muslim-Christian market town of Madaba. Famed for it’s Byzantine mosaics, including a biblically important map of the Holy Land made in the 6th century out of two million stone pieces and now housed in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, Madaba, its mosaics and little shops offers us gentle respite. Another great Jordananin feast - (1), overnight (2) - Madaba.
