The Serengeti is home to the famous migration of the wildebeest and zebra; here you can spot the predatory lion, hyena and cheetah in their wake. The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation area is a vast and unbroken volcanic crater ring. Thanks to a permanent water and pasture source, the crater floor plays host to nearly every species of African animal which can be viewed on the small vehicles that enter the crater. Zebra, buffalo, black rhino and wildebeest graze amongst the predatory lion, cheetah and hyena, presenting a photographer’s nirvana.

Day 6: Nairobi
We have an early start today in order to head back to Nairobi to restock and get ready for our next day's adventures.

Days 7 - 8: Rift Valley Lakes
We leave Nairobi, and travel along the Great Rift Valley via Lakes Nakuru and Naivasha. Lake Nakuru National Park is home to a veritable colony of wildlife. It supports a population of black rhino, lion, leopard, zebra, antelope and giraffe not to mention millions of pink flamingos and the lake itself is a shallow soda lake. We enjoy a day of game driving here and stay overnight at a campsite within the park.

Day 8 sees us heading out to the beautiful Lake Navaisha, the perfect place to relax and take in the stunning scenery.  The highest of the Rift Valley lakes, the freshwater Lake Naivasha is a sanctuary to bird life. From here, you can opt to visit Elsamere (home of Joy Adamson of ‘Born Free’ fame), Crescent Island Game Sanctuary or Hells Gate NP. 

Days 9 - 10: Masai Mara
On day 9 we reach possibly Kenya’s most famous natural attraction - the Masai Mara National Reserve. The highlight of the Mara is no doubt the annual wildebeest migration, when literally millions of these beasts plus zebra and Thomson’s gazelle stray north from the Serengeti in neighbouring Tanzania in search of lush grass on the savannah plains. Elephant, lion, cheetah, giraffe and a multitude of hooved herbivores also inhabit the reserve. A morning and evening game drive through the Mara gives us the chance to spot the Big Five. During our stay we can also opt to visit a local Maasai tribe.  We have two days to enjoy this plethora of wildlife.

Day 11: Nairobi
Heading out straight after breakfast, on the long drive back to Nairobi, we cross over the border back into Kenya, and our expedition ends upon arrival into Nairobi.
