Welcome to Istanbul! You will be transferred to your hotel and the remainder of the day is yours free to explore at your own pace.
Today you will enjoy a full day guided tour of Istanbul. You will visit the Blue Mosque, The Topkapı Palace, Aya Sophia, Roman Hippodrome and the Grand Bazaar which includes over 4000 shops! The Blue Mosque is so named due to the blue tiles that line the walls. You will have a welcome dinner this evening.
Our first destination is Gallipoli where we’ll have a guided tour of the historical battlefields, taking in Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair and other memorials, the trenches and of course – ANZAC Cove.
At Troy (inspiration for Homer's Illiad and much more recently the movie Troy) we visit the Trojan Horse and ruins. We enjoy a guided tour of the ancient city that dates back to 3000BC! En route to Kusadasi, we explore the ruins of Pergamum with it's impressive temples, library and medical facilities which made it a famous cultural and political centre of it's time.
Today you will enjoy a full day tour of Ephesus. This classical city is extremely well preserved. Ephesus is a sacred site for Christians due to the association with several biblical figures, including St. Paul, and the Virgin Mary. Some highlights within the Old Graeco Roman City include house of Virgin Mary and The Basilica of St John.
Driving east, a short stop is made at a leather factory before arriving at Pamukkale - famed for its unique cascades of natural mineral rich pools. Here we can paddle our feet in the warm water flowing over the terraces or perhaps opt for a swim at the Pamukkale Thermal Baths.
Today we drive to Antalya, visiting the ancient site of Perge before heading to our hotel.
Today you have option to see rock tombs in Myra & St. Nicholas Church in Demre or explore famous Duden waterfalls.
Early departure for Konya, en-route visiting the famous theatre at Aspendos and the mausoleum of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi with its accompanying museum.
This morning we depart for Cappadocia, on the way we visit 13th century Agzikarahan caravansary the land of Fairy Chimneys. We pay a visit to the famous underground city of Kaymakli. Tonight tjere is an optional traditional Turkish folklore evening.
Whole troglodyte villages, subterranean churches and fortresses hewn from the soft, eroded volcanic rock have made Cappadocia one of Turkey’s finest attractions. Guided tour of the Goreme Valley, Zelve with its phallic-like eroded landscape of so-called ‘fairy chimneys’ and notable rock formations within the region.
Early morning departure to the nation's capital, Ankara, where we visit Anitkabir, mausoleum of the famed Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Anatolian Civilisations Museum.
After breakfast we drive onward to Istanbul. This afternoon you have free time.
