Zimbabwe Safaris and Holidays

Victoria Falls, known in Zambia as Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders), Zimbabwe's finest attraction is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the largest single curtain of falling water on Earth! Located between Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Zambezi River widens to 1.7 km and then the full width of the river plunges 108m down into the Zambezi Gorge. The force of the tumbling water, estimated at around 545 million litres per minute during the rainy season, sends clouds of spray up to 500m into the air, sustaining a lush rainforest all around. These mighty falls, which are double the height of Niagra Falls in the US and only rivalled in width by Iguassu Falls in South America, have to be seen to be believed. To echo the words of the David Livingstone, the great explorer - “No one can imagine the beauty of the view...scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight.” The area is also renowned for its adventure activities ranging from bungee jumping to white water rafting and a whole lot more for those not faint of heart. Whether on an overland camping safari or your own tailor made safari, Zimbabwe and the Victoria Falls cannot be missed.
