Welcome to China and the start of your holiday! Enjoy an arrival transfer to our hotel, where you sit back and relax after your long flight.
This morning, we explore the heart of Beijing including the vast Tiananmen Square where Chairman Mao’s tomb and various monuments to the people are located. Dominating the city’s heart is the Forbidden City, a centre of power for five centuries and seat of the emperors. Entering through the Gate of Heavenly Peace (replete with Chairman Mao’s portrait), we enjoy a guided walk of this old city within a city. Later we visit the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven. Don some comfortable shoes. Today we drive out of the city to Mutianyu, where we can walk a section of the Great Wall. Some sections are fairly steep, but the walk on the vast wall that snakes for thousands of kilometres is one of those ‘must do’ experiences! Continuing we visit the tombs of the Ming emperors. We also visit a Jade Factory. Tonight we have included a Kung Fu show for you. Overnight - Rainbow Hotel
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your morning flight to Xian. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide. Before visiting the Terracotta Warrior archaeological site, we visit a workshop where we see the process used to create the terracotta figurines. In battle formation, the Terracotta Warriors are one of China’s most awesome sights. Tonight you attend the Tang Dynasty Show. Overnight - Rainbow Hotel
Today, we visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Quarter. Encircling the old city is Xi’an’s medieval City Wall, where you can enjoy a hired bike ride. Enjoy the remainder of today in your own time to explore the beautiful city. Overnight - Wan Nian Grand Hotel
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Chengdu. Upon arrival you will be met and driven to Leshan, enjoying beautiful countryside views of the Chuanxi Plain on the way (two hour drive along expressway). Arrive in Leshan at noon. After lunch, you board a boat and enjoy a panoramic view of the biggest carved Buddha statue in the world. Drive on for half an hour to Emei mountain. Check into hotel in Emei city. Set off from the hotel by tour bus to the cable car station, take the cable car up to the Wannian Temple. After visiting the temple and hiking to qingyoingge we then transfer you back to Chengdu. Overnight - Emeishan Hotel
After breakfast you will venture to the Panda Centre. Located just 10km (6miles) away from downtown Chengdu, the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Centre has been created and imitates the pandas' natural habitat in order that they might have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. Travel to Chongqing via dazu Grottoes: It is 256 kilometers to the east of Chengdu, The Dazu Grottoes spread across more than 75 sites in the county, and contain over 50,000 stone sculptures carved from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). They are mainly located on Baoding (Treasure Peak) Mountain. We then drive to Chonqqing and board your Yangtze cruise after dinner. Overnight - Civil Aviation Hotel
Good morning from the River Yangtze! At 6340km in length, the Yangtze is the 3rd longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and wending its way through eight very different provinces. Enjoy spectacular vistas passing through all of the famous Gorges Qutangxia Gorge, Wuxia Gorge, Xiling Gorge on your way to Yichang. Overnight - Superior
Today marks the end of your cruise, upon arrival in to Yichang. Then you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Shanghai, arriving there we transfer you to your hotel. Overnight - Superior
Once known for its decadent magnetism that attracted fortune-seekers and adventurers, Shanghai looks like a European city in a Chinese setting. A stroll along the famous Shanghai Bund confirms this. Today, we visit the the Jade Buddha Temple, Shanghai Museum, charming Yuyuan Gardens, and the Old City where we can opt to shop on Nanjing Road. Travelling west, we journey to Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. One of China’s most charming cities, it’s fame rests on it’s waterways, and canals that are dotted with traditional bridges, houses and gardens. A cruise on the Grand Canal exposes Suzhou’s beauty.
