Bhuj is the district headquarters of the Kutch district, the second largest in India. It is a fascinating old walled city, with maze-like streets full of gateways, pavilions, palaces and brightly-coloured Hindu temples.
Gujarat's oldest museum, the Kachchh Museum, is located in Bhuj and home to jewels, art, and other beautiful artefacts. Nearby are the Prag Mahal (New Palace) and the gorgeous Aina Mahal (Old Palace) where you can visit the Hall of Mirrors with its white marble walls, fountains, gilded ornaments and mirrors of venetian glass.
This area is also known for its fantastic and intricate crafts, including embroidery, batik work, leather work and applique. A great place to pick up some unique souvenirs!
