This morning you will enjoy a morning of Marrekech. One of the first sights you will see as you enter Marrakech, is the Koutoubia Mosque, with its 230 foot high minaret, dating back to the 12th century. The evening is yours at leisure. Djemâa el-Fna, the central square, is best seen in the evening when it’s overflowing with food stalls, cooking stalls, dancers, acrobats, fortune tellers, snake charmers, musicians and henna artists.

Day 4: Marrakech

Another day to explore more of Marrakech- visit the jardins majorelle, or Gueliz, or take more time in the medina.

Day 6: Ouarzazate - Ourigane

Drive along the foothills of the High Atlas to the Tizi n Test pass and visit Tinmel mosque before spending the night in Ourigane. Pronounced Weer-gan, the region of Ourigane is home to many small Berber villages and it is the most breathtaking part of the Atlas Mountains. Ourigane is cooler than most cities in summer and the hills and valleys are littered with dense, untouched forests, fruit orchards of lime, grapefruit and orange and roses throughout the gardens. Overnight Oliveraie de Marigha

Day 7: Ourigane - Essaouira

A relaxed breakfast before descending to the heat of the plain and onwards to Essaouira. Originally encircled by the old walls, the town of Essaouira has now extended beyond the walls, but the town is still small enough to explore on foot. The 18th century town is laid back and is a popular destination for windsurfing and kite surfing, due to the wave forming winds in summer and spring. Overnight in Sofitel Golf or similar

Day 8: Essaouira - Casablanca

Enjoy a free day to explore as you like. Thuya wood carving workshops are well worth a visit, as well as walking along the ramparts and visiting the spice and jewellery souks and the fishing port. Orson Welles filmed Othello in Essaouira and the open shot of the film is of the ramparts of Essaouira. There is even a park area that has been re-named Orson Welles Square. Overnight in Sofitel Golf or similar

Day 9: Casablanca

We set off to Cassablanca today. Casablanca conjours up romantic images of a bygone era, from the film of the same name but today it is a modern city, with wide streets and some of the old French colonial buildings remain. The Place de Nations Unies is the central point of Casalanca, as it not only leads to the medina but also the wide streets lead from it. The market here has not only handicrafts but also an abundance of food, including live turtles!
