Rio Carnival Bolt-on - 5 days
Every year Rio de Janeiro is home to the mother of all carnivals, the
legendary Rio Carnival when hundreds of thousands of people flock to
the city to celebrate. It’s a time to sing, dance, party and have fun whilst
immersing yourself in the Brazilian spirit.
A major highlight of the carnival is the spectacular Samba Parade where
different samba schools battle it out to win the hearts and minds of the
audience and the judges. Fabulous floats cruise along whilst dancers
dressed in sensational costumes samba their way through the streets
to the infectious rhythm of the percussion bands. The most extravagant
parades take place on the Sunday and Monday night of the carnival whilst outside of the parade ground, free street pageants and block parties revel from dusk till dawn. A variety of themed carnival balls are also on offer.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Hotel check in.
Days 2 - 4 – Free time for you to explore Rio de Janeiro and enjoy the world’s biggest party at Rio Carnival. Try your hand at samba dancing at the special bandstands that are erected throughout the city and its suburbs or join in the free street parties, singing and dancing
with the locals long into the night. On Sunday night enjoy the
famous Samba Parade at the Sambadrome.
Day 5 – Hotel check out.

- Applicable to: Road to Rio, Rio to Iguazu Falls (plus on the reverse route for both these tours) and South American Salsa tours.
- If you would like to book this bolt-on for the start or end of your group tour, please inform us at time of booking. It is also important that you secure your flights well in advance due to the carnival’s popularity.
- Carnival prices are subject to change. In the event that prices increase closer to carnival time, you will be liable to pay the difference even if the price changed after you booked and paid for your holiday in full. Affected travellers will be notified and re-invoiced prior to travel. All additional payments for Rio Carnival must be paid in advance of travel.
What's Included
- Rio Carnival group tour bolt-on - 4 nights accommodation in a simple hotel on a shared room basis with breakfast included daily. (Accommodation from Friday night until Tuesday morning)
- Ticket to the famous Sambadrome parade on Sunday night in sector 13 (or equivalent). If you want to get closer to the action, upgrades to Sector 11 are available upon request and subject to availability.
