Day 1: Kuching
Saturday â€“ Welcome to Borneo - Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to our hotel. Overnight - Kuching
Day 2: Cat City
Kuching. Established by Sir James Cook, â€˜Cat â€™City, is a relaxed modern city which still retains most of its heritage. We explore Chinese temples, Markets and the Sarawak Museum, all before lunch, leaving this afternoon free to enjoy at your leisure. Overnight - Kuching (B)

Day 3: Bako National Park
Today, we travel by coach and then a short boat ride along the shoreline of the South China Sea to Bako National Park. See proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques and monitor lizards in a natural setting. Walk forest trails to secluded beaches and experience this amazing wilderness which is located so close to Kuching. Overnight - Kuching (B)
Day 4: Orangutans and Lemanak Longhouse
Kuching - Lemanak. This morning we visit Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre where we time our arrival to coincide with feeding time.
Continuing on through rural Sarawak, we stop along the way for lunch and a visit to a local market and pepper garden. On arrival at the Lemanak River we travel by longboat along the river to our longhouse. Settle in at our simple traditionally styled lodge before enjoying dinner and after, a welcoming ceremony of traditional dance and music. Overnight - Lemanak (B, D)
Day 5: Lemanak and Kuching
Lemanak â€“ Kuching. After breakfast we witness a blowpipe demonstration, before learning of the natural native remedies used by the Iban and local edible plants on an informative nature walk. We then leave this remote area, returning by longboat and overland to Kuching. Overnight - Kuching (B)
Day 6: Mulu
Kuching â€“ Mulu. Firstly, a morning flight to Mulu before transferring to our accommodation. This afternoon we visit Deer Cave, the world's largest cave passage, by first taking a scenic 3km plank-walk through primary rainforest to its entrance of Deer Cave. With an entrance of 150m wide and 120m high and nowhere within less than 90 m high, its scale is awesome. Next is Langs Cave, with its remarkable limestone stalactites and stalagmites. In fine weather there is also the chance to witness the spectacular exodus of some 2 million of bats.

Day 7: Mulu Caves
Mulu. Begin the day by travelling by longboat to Wind caves. Marvel at the spectacular stalagmites and stalactites. Look for flow rocks, heltites and rock coral, where some are illuminated in the Kingâ€™s Rooms of the wind caves. After which, visit the Clearwater cave to see the 100 km subterranean river passage formed in this longest cave system in Southeast Asia. Lunch at the pinic ground near the Clearwater river. Swim in the crystal clearwater river before returning to your accommodation. Overnight - Mulu (B, L)
Day 8: Kota Kinbalu
Mulu - Kota Kinbalu. Hotel check-out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu, where on arrival you are transferred to your hotel, with the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight - Kota Kinbalu (B)
Day 9: Manukan Island
Kota Kinabalu â€“ Manukan Island. Only 20 mins by boat from Kota Kinabalu is the beautiful Manukan island and the stunning coral islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. With clear waters, beautiful beaches and coral reefs, spend the day relaxing, snorkelling amongst tropical fish or exploring jungle trails. Overnight - Kota Kinabalu (B)
Day 10: Dusun Village Homestay
Kota Kinabalu â€“ Taginambur. Today we explore rural Sabah. Travelling north and with Mt Kinabalu as a backdrop we explore the quaint and lively town of Kota Belud before arriving at our accommodation for the night - Taginambur Homestay set in a local Dusan Village. Tonight we are immersed in the local culture with a cultural show. Overnight - Taginambur homestay (B, D)
Day 11: Taginbur & Kinabalu National Park
Taginabur - Kundasang. Feel the serenity of this lush area and waken to the calls of roosters! A short walk to the nearby rubber estate we start the day by testing your skill at rubber tapping. After which we spend time visiting Kinabalu National Park and its mountain garden, home to various species of the flowering Rhododendrons, carnivorous pitcher plants, orchids, ferns, and birds. If time and weather permit, we take a guided trail walk. Overnight - Kundasang (B)
Day 12: Sepilok Nature Resort
Kundasang â€“ Sepilok. Start the day by discovering Sabahâ€™s WWII history with a visit the Kundasang memorial park, before heading to Poring, to explore tropical lowland jungle and rainforest some 1,500 ft above sea level. Take the jungle trail leading up to the treetop canopy walkways, suspended 41 meters above the forest floor across giant Mengaris trees. Next we proceed by road to Sepilok. This evening we visit the rainforest discovery centre and experience a nightwalk. Overnight - Sepilok Nature Resort (B)
Day 13: Sepilok Orangutan â€“ Kinabatangan River
Sepilok â€“ Sukau. Breakfast Arriving at Sepilok we first watch a video on the primates rehabilitation before proceeding through the rainforest on wooden planks to witness their feeding.
Travelling overland to the award winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge we arrive in time to take a late afternoon river cruise in search of some of the species which call Sukau home including Borneo pygmy elephants, orangutans and proboscis monkeys.
Return for a candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank and slide show conducted by a naturalist. After dinner is the chance to take an optional night safari cruise. Overnight - Sukau Rainforest Lodge (B, D)
Day 14: Sukau Rainforest Lodge
This morning, a very early river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view birds and wildlife before returning for breakfast and an enlightening tour of the Hornbill Boardwalk with the resortâ€™s in-house naturalist. Later, visit the 65 acres Kinabatangan Wildlife Corridor Regeneration Program (KWICORP) site to learn about reforestation of degraded riverine reserve and a further river cruise in search of wildlife. Day 15: Sandakan
Sandakan. After breakfast, we retrace our steps to Sandakan where the tour ends after you are transferred to the airport. Flights should be booked for after 2pm. (B)
