All About Angkor
The symbol of Cambodia and a staggering example of Khmer genius, Angkor Wat must be seen to be believed. Easily the largest religious monument in the world covering a rectangular area of 500 acres, hours could be swallowed exploring the incredible galleries, grand towers and extensive walls displaying impressive bas reliefs.
Day 1 – Arrive Siem Reap
Arrive into Siem Reap Airport and included transfer to your hotel. Spend the evening exploring the city and enjoy a meal at one of its many restaurants. Why not head to Pub Street later for some after-hours fun. Overnight Siem Reap.
Day 2 – Ta Prohm & Angkor Thom
Today we explore the magnificent temples of Angkor. Our first stop is Ta Prohm, where giant tree roots tangle around the temple grounds. Later we continue towards Angkor Wat, perhaps the most powerful symbol of Cambodia. Later in the afternoon we return to the temples and visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom, home to the incredible Bayon temple. Overnight Siem Reap.
Day 3 – Pnom Kulen
This morning drive 50 kilometres north of Siem Reap to Pnom Kulen, where we visit Kbal Spean, an area of riverbed carvings and lush jungle. Spend the day exploring off the beaten track temples and taking in the beauty of the Cambodian countryside. Return to Siem Reap for an evening at leisure. Overnight Siem Reap.
Days 4-5 –Kompong Phluk
A short drive on day 4 takes us to Kompong Phluk, a floating community on Tonle Sap, the largest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia. Explore the floating community and then later enjoy some free time to relax by the pool back at the hotel. Perhaps visit an Artisan workshop in the evening. At any time of day on day 5, we will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight.
