Days 1 & 2: Stone Town Upon arrival in Zanzibar you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your local guesthouse in Stone Town. This hotel, your base for the first two days of the trip, is superbly located in the heart of fascinating Stone Town. Whilst physically Stone Town is relatively small in size it is a town that bursts with vibrant colour and intriguing history. Wandering along narrow alleys teeming with traders you encounter imposing mosques and crumbling Arabian houses behind studded wooden doors. There are several guided activities that you may take from Stone Town such as a walking tour of the city or a sunset dhow cruise, providing perfect photo opportunities of the City from the water. Alternatively head inland to visit the cheeky Colobus monkeys of Jozani Forest or across to the southern eastern coast to Kizimkazi to swim with pods of bottlenose and humpback dolphins. For the opportunity to swim and snorkel from Stone Town a tour to a nearby island such as Prison, Uzi or Pungume Island may be a preferred option. Overnight - Stone Town (2)
Day 3: Spice tour & Northern beaches Embark on a spice tour en route to the perfect sands of Kendwa beach on Zanzibar’s north coast. A the spice plantations a guided walk will be undertaken where you’re shown herbs and spices, fruits and other crops, and are given a fascinating description of their uses, with plenty of opportunity for smelling and tasting. This afternoon we reach the beautiful northern beach of either Kendwa or Nungwi. Here you can swim in the crystal clear warm tropical waters all day and relax on the peaceful white sand beaches. Overnight - Kendwa/Nungwi Beach.
Days 4: Northern beaches Spend a blissful day at leisure by the beach or perhaps take one of the optional activities on offer in the area. Kendwa and Nungwi offer a range of water sports, from snorkelling to swimming, fishing or boating, or a scuba diving excursion to Mnemba Island and offshore reefs. Overnight - Kendwa/Nungwi Beach.
Day 5: Stone Town Bidding a reluctant goodbye to the perfect sand beaches our guide will transfer you back to either Zanzibar airport or the seaport of Stone Town.
