Welcome to Sri Lanka and the start of your holiday! You'll be met at Colombo Airport and transferred to the hotel in Bentota. Tonight enjoy a tasty welcome dinner at your hotel.
After breakfast we take the road and drive to Sigiriya. En-route we visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela - This orphanage is the home for about 89 elephants, out of which some are baby elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. They are being cared, fed and trained by the wild life authorities. On completion proceed to Sigiriya and check into your hotel.
This morning we out and visit the famous ‘Lion Rock’ fortress. Afternoon proceed on a sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa - Which was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka, built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and which is a world heritage site. On completion we return back to the hotel in Sigiriya.
Morning leave for Kandy – En route visit the Dambulla Cave Temple - Climb up to the temple, which was donated by king Walagambahu in the 1st century BC to Buddhist monks. Also we visit a spice garden in Matale to see the different spices, which Sri Lanka is famous for. Afternoon proceed on a sightseeing tour of Kandy - Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and is a World Heritage Site. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Morning proceed to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. On completion leave for Nuwara Eliya – En route visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. After check in we leave on a sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya – Drive through "Little England” Return to hotel for your overnight stay.
Continuing to Yala National Park and check into your hotel. We then enjoy a jeep safari. In what is the largest national park in Sri Lanka, Yala is home to elephants, wild boar, buffalo, leopard, crocodile and myriad bird life hopefully you would of seen a number of these before returning to your hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel we leave for Negombo, arrival and check into your hotel. Remainder of the evening at leisure.
